When you manage to get the popularity that you want, there's going to be a chance that having to interact with your followers will take a lot of time. That's the time when you can ask for help on that department.

Late comment, but have you ever used a light switch? When I first came to America and saw it I thought that was kind of different, but it's great because it shows the status of thing. The light isn't working, but the status says it on. I didn't have to apply extra unnecessary step of The light is not working the slider says off which means it's actually on. I got used to this rather quickly and I'm sure it's a very fundamental build of how switches are build. I would not put both items on and off on at once, that could only lead to more confusion.

Well it did. They changed it back :/

You can see a slider like it in Reeder for Mac.They've changed sliders slightly in iOS5, but sadly only cosmetic.

This seems to be in line with how the new tabs/sliders work in Lion. It would be odd if this didn't filter back into iOS.

Yeah, there's that too. Note that I just tried the Westpac login in IE, and you DO, in fact, get a visual click. But who uses IE???!!! ;-) (I was talking about Chrome.)

Come to think of it Glenn, my girlfriend uses Westpac and I remember watching her login once and I was able to watch her enter her password pretty easily. That's not good...

Excellent overview. Now can you do the internet banks themselves? I recently gathered screen shots from all the banks in comparing them to an online financial solution I am working on at the moment, and I was disappointed by them all (including my own bank NAB).

In fact I'd be happy to let you test what I am working on and hear your thoughts on it. Shoot me an email at erik@erikveland.com

Thanks for that quick review. It would be really interesting to review the usability of banks' Internet banking services too (except you'd need an account with each one!). As most banks offer similar services, it might even be enough to make people switch if the online banking interface was much better on one than others. I'm with Commonwealth, and the online banking interface is excellent - I find it a bit more intuitive than ANZ, which my partner uses, and loads better than the interface for a UK bank account I use (smile.co.uk). I'm sure all the banks do usability testing anyway, because mistakes cost money..!
